GAPLESS ARRESTER AND ARRESTER FOR RADIO-BROADCASTING ANTENNA

PURPOSE:To improve lightning protection effect by penetrating a ferrite toroidal core with a conductor thus constructing an arrester. CONSTITUTION:A conductor 11, i.e. a 38mm2 copper wire, is penetrated through 100 pieces of ferrite troidal cores 12 thus constituting a gapless arrester 1. Since the ferrite troidal core 12 has such characteristic as being saturated with large current, the gapless arrester 1 exhibits approximately zero impedance for large current but it exhibits a high impedance for small high frequency current. When such arrester is employed in a medium wave broadcast antenna, lightning current flows directly to the earth but power having broadcast frequency does not flow to the earth because of high impedance but entirely fed to the antenna.
