PURPOSE:To improve the stability and to minimize the transition of phase by monitoring whether the root of a Chebyshev's polynomial satisfies a separation law. CONSTITUTION:For characteristics of nonrecursive filters 19 and 20 obtained when attention is paid to terminals 14 and 15, both the zero point and pole are obtained at a time with each transmission function (a zero filter 19 and a pole filter 20 respectively). While filters 19-22 have an equal constitution, and the differences exist only with the order number, the tap coefficient and the definite value of root. It is found that all roots are imaginary when the transmission function (h) is examined with estimation filters 19-22, and these imaginary roots exist on a unit circle. In this case, the monitor is given to check the phase of each root and whether the roots are different from each other. That is, the separation law is monitored. The system stability is secured with examination of the separation law. It is easy to obtain the stable working also with a sequential adaptive estimation filter whose response characteristics are sequentially controlled.
