PURPOSE:To improve the drive characteristic, by providing a lower electrode to a lower side of a photoelectric converting element and an upper electrode to an upper side, and providing an opaque upper shield layer made of a bad conductor above the upper electrode. CONSTITUTION:The lower electrode 23 and a lead electrode 24 are formed with an optically opaque conductive material on a transparent substrate 21 except a transparent window 22 to form spatially a photoelectric converting element 25 at the window 22 of the electrode 23. Then, after forming an insulation film 26 covering up to the end of the window 22 of the electrode 23 from a part of the window 22 of the element 25, the transparent upper electrode 27 is formed above the element 25 and connected to the electrode 24. Further, after an upper light shield layer 28 is formed with the optical opaque thin film so as to cover a gap between the electrodes 24 except the window 22, a transparent protective layer 29 is bonded with an adhesive 30.
