Abstract of the DisclosureA self contained sealing arrangement for drains and pipe connectionsincludes a sleeve-like, cylindrical sealing gasket having a plurality of annularribs disposed on the inner and outer surfaces thereof and spaced longitudinallytherealong. A pair of compression rings are disposed at opposed ends of thesealing gasket, each having annular surface portions adapted to impinge upon itsrespective end surface of the gasket. The end surfaces of the gasket are eachprovided with an annular surface portion adapted to cooperatively engage theconfronting annular surface of the respective compression ring. A plurality ofscrew holes extend through one ring and also longitudinally through the sealinggasket, and are aligned with a like plurality of tapped holes in the other ring.A like plurality of screws extend through the first ring and the gasket and aresecured in the tapped holes of the other ring. The gasket assembly is receivedabout a pipe end disposed within a drain body or pipe connection, and is situa-ted in the annular space defined by the outer surface of the pipe end and theinner surface of the drain or pipe connection. The screws may be tightened intheir respective tapped holes to compress the sealing gasket longitudinally, driving the annular surface portions together and causing radial expansion of thegasket inwardly and outwardly to effect a seal between the pipe and the drain orpipe connection.
