METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MEASURING SIZE OF BEARING RING FOR ANGULAR CONTACT BALL BEARING AT RACEWAY GROOVE POSITION

PURPOSE:To measure raceway groove position size accurately and easily by holding balls with holders between the raceway groove surface of a bearing ring mounted on a reference surface and the ball guide surface of a measurement part and providing the measurement part which is movable at right angles to the reference surface. CONSTITUTION:For measuring raceway groove position sizes A1 and A2 on the rear and front surface sides of the raceway outer ring 1, the outer ring 1 is mounted on the reference surface with the rear surface in contact with the reference surface 21 and balls 23 with holders are fitted in the raceway groove 2. The measurement part 22 is lower in an axial direction of the outer ring 1 to bring the ball guide surface 26 into contact with the balls 27. At the time, the balls contact each other at a position where two raceway groove surfaces contain a nominal angle theta of contact, and the sizes A1 and A2 are indicated on incidcators 29 and 30 as size difference from a set reference value. Therefore, the raceway groove position sizes A1 and A2 are measured accurately and easily.
