PURPOSE:To obtain a novel oxygen ion conductive material having superior effect by heating a mixture contg. a specified proportion of Bi2O2 to Y2O3 at a specified temp. CONSTITUTION:Bi2O3 and Y2O3, or such compds. which forms Bi2O3 and Y2O3 respectively by decomposition, are mixed to obtain a mixture contg. 21.5-23.5mol% Y2O3. The mixture is heated in the atmospheric air at =720 deg.C. Thus, a novel oxygen ion conductive material having superior effect is obtd.
