POS TERMINAL SYSTEM FOR FACSIMILE CODE DATA

PURPOSE:To reduce an amount of data, a labor cost, a quantity of transmission, and file capacity, etc., by connecting a facsimile equipment directly to a host computer as a POS terminal, and transmitting a content desired to order as code data to the host computer when ordering a product from each branch to a head office. CONSTITUTION:The ordering of the product from the branch 1 is performed by setting the facsimile equipment 2 installed at the branch 1 as the POS terminal and connecting it directly to the host computer 6 at the head office 7. When a branch code, a product code, or the number of order, etc., required for the ordering are inputted from the facsimile equipment 2, the code data are transmitted to the host computer 6 installed at the head office 7 via a line 5. At the host computer 6, the computing processing of received data can be performed with the amount of data less than image data. In such a way, it is possible to reduce the amount of data, the labor cost, the quantity of transmission, and the file capacity, and to improve operationability and reliability simultaneously.
