PURPOSE:To produce a copper alloy for springs having high strength and high elasticity, etc., by subjecting a copper alloy contg. specific ratios of Ti and Ni to hot rolling, cold rolling including annealing and tension annealing successively under specific conditions. CONSTITUTION:An ingot which contains, by weight %, 1.0-2.0% Ti and 0.1-2.0% Ni so as to contain Ti/Ni in a 1-5 ratio range and consists of the balance Cu and unavoidable impurities is hot rolled at =60% draft and 850 deg.C finish hot rolling temp. The rolled steel is then cooled down to =300 deg.C from said finish hot rolling temp. at =30 deg.C/min cooling rate by which the hot rolled sheet is obtd. The hot rolled sheet is subjected to 1st cold rolling at =50% draft and is then annealed for 5-720min at 300-600 deg.C and in succession, the sheet is cold rolled down to a target sheet thickness to reduce the thickness. Such cold rolled sheet is further subjected to the tension annealing for 5-180sec at 300-750 deg.C. The copper alloy for springs having excellent heat resistance and bending characteristic is thereby obtd.
