LINEAR LOW-DENSITY POLYETHYLENE COMPOSITION FOR INJECTION MOLDING

PURPOSE:The titled composition improved in nonstringiness during injection molding, obtained by adding fine particles of an inorganic substance or a low- MW tetrafluoroethylene resin to a linear low-density polyethylene having a melt index in a specified range. CONSTITUTION:100pts.wt. (A) linear low-density polythylene of a melt index of 2g/10min-70g/10min is mixed with 0.03-1pt.wt. (B) powder of an average particle diameter =2mu, comprising an inorganic substance which is a solid stable at a temperature =250 deg.C (e.g., talc or clay) or a low-MW tetrafluoroethylene resin to obtain the purpose linear low-density polyethylene composition for injection molding. In this way, component B functions as a nucleating agent and accelertes the coagulation of the polyethylene resin at the tip of a sprue during injection molding, so that no long string forms, the formed string can be easily cut, and the cycle of injection molding can be improved.
