PURPOSE:To display many kinds of error information by outputting error information instead of a driving signal from the output terminal of a central control part when an error occurs. CONSTITUTION:If an error occurs during the operation of a printer and error contents are detected by a central control part 1, a corresponding bit is changed to ''0''. Data in an 8-bit memory area of an RAM is outputted to parallel ports PE0-PE7 as it is. If an RAM error occurs, the address of error occurrence is outputted to parallel ports PE8-PE15 simultaneously with said data output. That is, 8 kinds of error information are provided, and the 8-bit memory area is prepared in the RAM, and contents of this area are outputted to ports PE0-PE7 as they are.
