PURPOSE:To facilitate changing the transport direction in the course of transport by disposing a roller in such a manner that a part of the roller projects out from the holes of a surface member having a plurality of holes, and turning the axis of the roller around the vertical axis. CONSTITUTION:Only a chain 19 is driven by a motor M, and a roller 5 i rotated through a worm 18, a worm wheel 17, bevel gears 15, 14 and spur gears 12, 11, so that an article on a case 1 is transported by the roller 5 projecting out from holes of the case 1. At the time of changing the direction, the chain 19 is stopped, and a chain 19 is driven, whereby a rotary shaft 6 of the roller 5 is rotated around an imaginary vertical axis through a worm 9, a worm wheel 8, and a rotor 7 to change the direction of the roller. Thus, the direction can be easily changed.
