PURPOSE:To make it possible to surely clamp a magnet chuck to a base, by providing a vacuum pad device for sucking the magnet chuck and a device for positioning the magnet chuck longitudinally thereof and for fastening thereof, on a chuck base. CONSTITUTION:A base 2 loaded and fixed with a magnet chuck 8 to which a workpiece 70 is fixed, is secured onto a table of a machine tool. A vacuum pad device 3 and clamp devices 9a, 9b for longitudinally positioning and fastening the magnet chuck 8 are arranged on the chuck base 2. Further, a first switch for confirming the presence of the magnet chuck 8 and a second switch 7 for confirming the magnetical energization of the magnet chuck 8 are provided. Further, a proximity switch actuating member 26 which vertically moves in association with a magnetically energizing lever 25 for the magnet chuck 8 is attached to the lower surface of the magnet chuck 8.
