PURPOSE:To enable workpieces to be ground always uniformly with high accuracy by maintaining a center high angle constant irrespective of variation of the diameters of a grinding wheel and a regulating wheel. CONSTITUTION:A grinding wheel bed 12 supporting rotatably a grinding wheel 11 and a regulating wheel bed 14 supporting rotatably a regulating wheel 13 are movably mounted on a bed 10 of a numerical control centerless grinder and opposed to each other respectively in the directions of parallel axes X, U. While the diameters of the grinding wheel 11 and regulating wheel 13 are reduced by the correction of said wheel 11, 13 to vary successively a center height angle r in grinding, a calculating means for calculating the center height capable of maintaining the center height angle constant according to the reduction of the diameters of both wheels 11, 13 and a center height correction means for correcting the elevated position of a supported cutter 17 are provided. Thus, a workpiece can be always uniformly ground with high accuracy.
