PURPOSE:To provide the titled composition containing specific amounts of 1,3- butylene glycol and/or glycerin, quaternarized copolymer of polyvinyl pyrrolidone, and water, and capable of supplying the hair with water and keeping the moistened state for a long time. CONSTITUTION:The titled composition contains (A) 30-60wt% 1,3-butylene glycol and/or glycerin, (B) 0.05-5.0wt% quaternarized copolymer of polyvinyl pyrrolidone, and (C) the remaining part of water, as essential components. The composition supplies water to the hair to prevent the drying of the hair and keep the hair in the moistened state, softens the hair, and gives natural luster to the hair without giving stickly feeling. When the composition is applied to permed hair, a strong and durable wave can be obtained which cannot be attained from the dry hair. The hair treated with the composition can be combed smoothly, gives pleasant feeling to the hand, and exhibits wet appearance after being dried.
