CONSTITUTION:A fuel injection quantity adjusting device adjusts the opening degree of the injection hole 2 of a plunger 1 by a spill ring 3, and a concave part 4 is formed in the spill ring 3. A lever 5 is inserted in this concave part 4. When an accelerator pedal is stepped, the tension of a control spring 16 increases, and a moment swinging in the direction of a control lever 7 is imparted to a tension lever 6. The lever 5 swings at an angle at which the moment due to the spring 16 balances with the pressing force of a governor sleeve 13. Accordingly, the spill ring 3 moves in the axial direction of a plunger 1, and the fuel injection quantity is adjusted. At the rapid acceleration time, abrupt swinging of the lever 5 is prevented by a damper 21, and hence against abrupt acceleration and deceleration of the speed, sufficient stable injection quantity can be regulated.
