PURPOSE:To facilitate transporting of treating objects in a heat treatment furnace with simple constitution by moving a fork carrying the treating objects for a prescribed distance in the state of a horizontal posture by plural sets of parallel links. CONSTITUTION:A basket 23 housing the treating objects is imposed on the fork 19 in a cooling chamber 10 and a door 13 between said chamber and a heating chamber is opened in this state. A fulcrum shaft 251a is then driven by a motor to rotate a gear 252a in an arrow direction. A fulcrum shaft 250a is, therefore, rotated via a gear 253a and a rear arm 21b of a 1st parallel link 21 fixed to the shaft 250a is swiveled forward, by which the entire part of the parallel link 21 is swiveled forward and the fork 19 is moved forward in the state of the horizontal posture. A supporting block 22 fixed to a base 26 is raised by the 2nd parallel link 25 at this time, but the block starts descending again as the fork 19 advances. The fork 19 stops at the position of the advance limit shown by an alternate long and two short dashes line at the point of the time when a guide roller 24 arrives at the front end of a guide rail 17. The generation of a dead stroke in the moving stroke of the fork 19 is obviated in this way.
