PURPOSE:To prevent embrittleness of a weld zone in the stage of welding a similar part to a zircalloyd steel pipe subjected to a bead blasting treatment on the inside surface by removing preliminarily at least sodium from the beads sticking to the inside surface near the weld zone. CONSTITUTION:The inside surface near the weld zone of a zircalloyd pipe subjected to a spraying treatment of beads consisting of glass contg. sodium (bead blasting treatment) on the inside surface is polished prior to welding of the other zircalloyd part to said pipe. The part near the weld zone is heated. At least the sodium component is preliminarily removed from the beads sticking to the inside surface near the weld zone. The embrittleness of the weld zone is thus prevented.
