PURPOSE:To prevent a car from starting due to misoperation at the parking brake release side, by changing power feed to a solenoid device controlling the operation and release of a parking brake according to control between both brake operating and releasing sides of a parking brake. CONSTITUTION:In case of a device turning a cable winding member round in both cw and ccw directions by controlling a motor 5 and controlling the operation-release of a parking brake via a cable, the motor 5 is operated by a controller C. This controller C controls all the operation of the parking brake in conformity with the operation of a control switch F consisting of a manual control switch 22, a manual brake control switch 23 and a manual brake release control switch 24. And, when a brake operating command signal is outputted via a central processing unit (CPU)25 inside the controller C, a motor driving cirucit 41 is made up so as to be controlled by a battery power source but when a brake release command signal is outputted, to be controlled by an ignition power source this way.
