PURPOSE: To obtain a timber antiseptic composition for antiseptically treating a timber or timber product by incorporating as active component (E)-1-brom-3- ethoxycarbonyloxy-1,2-diiodo-1-propane, a specific compound or its acid addition salt, and coating the timber or timber product with it or introducing it. CONSTITUTION: As a first active component, a triazole derivative or its acid addition salt having a formula is, for example, contained and as a second active component, (E)-1-brom-3-ethoxycarbonyloxy-1,2-diiodo-1-propane is contained in combination with other component. The compound of the formula contains a basicity to form a salt. This salt state is a salt obtained by bringing the compound of a formula I into contact with an acid, an organic acid, a hydrochloric acid or the like or similar acid. In the formula, R is a hydrogen or l-3C alkyl.
