PURPOSE:To make it possible to certainly protect a welded line for a definite period until inspection of a welded line finish surface is carried out, by coating a thermoplastic resin to the welded line surface of an oil storage tank subjected to polishing finish in order to inspect the welded line to provide a coating layer. CONSTITUTION:By coating a thermoplastic resin to the surface of the welded line 2 of an oil storage tank 1 subjected to polishing finish in order to inspect the welded line in a width of about 200mm. according to a blow coating means or a brush coating means, a coating layer 3 is provided to protect the surface of the welded line for a definite period. Therefore, there is no conventional fear such that the finished surface of the welded line is corroded during water filling inspection. By this method, the finished surface of the welded line can be held under a condition same to a condition directly after finishing is carried out by peeling the coating layer 3 before reinspection of the welded line after water filling inspection is completed and conventional polishing finish work of the welded line requiring two labors is carried out once and finish work harmful from a standpoint of safety and sanitation can be eliminated as well as reduction of working labor is attained.
