The immobilized biocatalyst for the enzymic reduction of nicotinamidadenindinucleotide contains 1 to 60 mass parts of a damp permeabilised cells of Arthrobacter ureafaciens, preferably Arthrobacter ureafaciens DBM 1076, filed in the micro-organism digest of the Biochemical and Microbiology Faculty of the Chemical-technical University in Prague under reference number 1076, to 1 mass part of dry matter of gel-forming material, for example alginate, acrylamide, agar, kappa-carrageen and genu-carrageen. The principle of the method of preparation of the immobilised biocatalyst is that the damp washed bacteria cells, possibly permeabilised, are suspended in a solution of gel-forming material, whereupon the suspension is transformed into gel by coagulation, polymerisation and/or cooling and permeabilisation of the immobilised cells can be carried out.
