METHOD OF FREE CALCIUM MONOXIDE'S CONTENT MICROSCOPICAL DETERMINATION IN METALLOGRAPHIC SPECIMEN FROM PORTLAND CEMENT CLINKER

The purpose of the design is a method for determination of volume of free calcium monoxide in portland clinker, along with microscopic examination of a polished specimen made out of portland clinker. For the purpose of increasing the representativeness of the results of determination, the proposed design uses granular polishing specimen made out of clinker dust and coloured by exposure to acetic acid vapours, in contrast to the existing method where the polished specimen of individual granulated metals of clinker is examined. The granular polished specimen is advantageously formed out of two layers of epoxy resin, hardened at temperatures between 90 to 110 degrees C, while the first, containing clinker dust, is to be rubbed down and polished.
