The principle of the design lies in the fact that the ferromagnetic coating (1) of the magnetic circuit has the shape of an elongated flat cylinder or shape of an elongated prism and forms, along with two pivots (2) and two connecting nozzles (3), a complete casing of the flow meter. At the same time, the axial length of the salient poles (4) is in the ratio of 2 : 3 to 2 : 9 to the axial length of the ferromagnetic coating (1). The measuring tube (5) of the flow meter is equipped with two grooves (6) on the opposite sides, while the salient poles (4) of the ferromagnetic coating (1) precisely fit into the grooves (6). The fact that the salient poles (4) are located in the grooves (6) and mutually approximated shortens the length of the mean magnetic line of force that pass through both the salient poles (4). Hence the concentration of the effective magnetic flux to the detection area of the induced voltage in a liquid by means of electrodes (7) occurs and, as a result, also the efficiency of the flow meter of the induction type is improved. The undesirable disperse lines of force can be closed only between the salient poles (4) and ferromagnetic coating (1) and therefore the magnetic field in the outer area around the flow meter is negligible and cannot influence precision of measurement even with approximation of a foreign ferromagnetic body to the ferromagnetic coating (1). This device can be to advantage used e.g. in some exposed metallurgical and chemical plants.IMAGE
