Software routine for distributed data processing network - transfers routine functions from machine to machine via bus network

The program controls 'migrating' message transmission processes in an object-oriented network which has multiple computer stations. Each station operates the program according to an eight-step routine. Each byte transmitted via the network bus is detected (1). If it is not a 'send message' byte (2N) the routine examines (3) the next byte. If it is a send message byte '2Y) it is examined (4) to see if it refers to another station; if not (4N), it is interpreted (6). If the interpretation is unknown (6N), the local station (7) returns a 'send message' signal. If the message is recognised (6Y) the address is checked (8) and the message is steered to the local (7) or remote station (5) addressed.
