Vaccines against coccidiosis in poultry - contain oocysts of coccidiostat-resistant Eimeria strains

Compsns. (including feeds and drinking water) for prevention of harmful effects of coccidiosis in poultry contain sporulating oocysts of one or more Eimeria strains that are totally or largely resistant to coccidiostatic agents. The oocysts are derived from resistant strains of E. acervulina and/or E. maxina. The dosage is 10-5000 (esp. 50-500) oocysts/chicken. In the case of broiler fowl, the compsns. are administered at least 3 weeks before slaughter. In the case of laying hens, the compsns. are administered before the hens are 12 weeks old.
