A min. quantity of air per unit of time is always sucked out and the extracted air is continuously sampled tin the outlet passage,. When the measured values exceed a certain threshold, the amount of extracted air per unit of time is increased. At the same time as increasing the air flow-rate, extra ventilation holes between the space being ventilated and the environment are opened, these being closed during min. flow condtiions. An increase in the extracted flow takes place when the measured values do not decrease after a certain time. The measured values are humidity and the degree of air purity.
