The filter unit comprises a baseplate mounted over a roof opening and contg. an aperture. A fan housing is connected by its outlet to the baseplate and a filter module with perforated walls is included, closed by a cover. Coupling components secure the baseplate, module and cover together. A protective cowl can be mounted round the outside of the module.
