The chemically-modified proteins, with or without catalytic activity and therapeutic effect, possessing reactive epsilon-amino gps., are made by reaction of this gp. with the carbonyl gp. of one or more acylating agents of formula RCOX, in a micellar medium contg. the acylating agent and protein in molar ratio 50-900, opt. followed by re-acylation under similar similar conditions.
