Submersible device for sampling dissolved, particulate organic material in aquatic media

The equipment presented allows direct sampling of the dissolved, particulate organic compounds in deep waters and the simultaneous recording of the characteristics of the mass of water sampled (volume, depth, direction and intensity of the current, salinity, temperature, etc.). The equipment is submersible and is based on the in-situ filtration of large volumes of water by means of a non- contaminating lift pump and subsequent extraction of the dissolved phase by means of adsorption on a polymeric support. The system operates when connected by a multi- phase electric cable to a panel for control and gathering of data. The filters and adsorbents are subsequently analysed in the laboratory. The system applies to a number of fields of activity which require the investigation or control of masses of water, such as oceanography, aquaculture, environmental fields, etc.
