Apparatus to identify and evaluate by spectrodensitometry substances submitted to electrophoresis and subsequently stained

The apparatus is based on the use of monochromatic light totally channelled by an optical system which strikes the electrophoresis plate moving at an appropriate speed through the action of a motor and a reducing mechanism, which once it has crossed the plate strikes a prism which deflects it towards a photodiode which receives the various intensities which reach it according to the zones crossed. The grating has an orientating mechanism which permits actuation with lights of different wavelengths, due to which prior calibration is required with a plate that contains only the dye in order to ensure correct functioning, this apparatus being capable of being connected to a PC or other type of computer.
