Process for the preparation of new photosensitive polymers incorporating the thioxanthone group, for use as polymeric photosensitisers and photoinitiators

The patent in question relates to the preparation of new polymers which contain the photoactive thioxanthone group, and to their use as photosensitisers in organic reactions and also as polymerisation photoinitiators, showing great activity. They have application in pigmented coatings, inks and paints, bringing about photocuring in combination with conventional amines at wavelengths lying within the range 350-420 nm. They can be used in both organic and aqueous medium, which gives them great versatility as regards their applications.
