Abstract of the InventionAn indicator apparatus has multiple stages toeffectively handle data processing, particularly rawdata from a mechanical load cell, such as those used tomonitor loads in the mechanical workings of a torgue armreducer. Processing of such raw data is spilt into par-allel operations relating to both signal level and sig-nal polarity functions. This multi-staged approachenables increased precision as to both functions due totailoring of the data inputs to different stages. Useof staged circuitry to effect the separated functionsalso readily permits the presence of an unobtrusivemonitor level signal output. Combined with other feat-ures, a limit detector and alarm permits accurate pro-vision of both a stable response to low frequency steadystate mechanical data and to fast-acting high frequencytransient/dynamic data contained therein. Indicatedpolarity changes signify alternating tension and compres-sion in the mechanical couplings of a load cell.
