Ferrocene derivative, a surfactant containing the same, and a method for producing an organic thin film

Novel ferrocene derivatives represented by general formula (I) or general formula (II) (wherein symbols are as defined in the specification) are excellent as surfactants. A thin organic film of a hydrophobic organic substance may efficiently be produced by an electrochemical process using the novel ferrocene derivative or other ferrocene derivative as a micelle-forming agent (surfactant).
