Methods for diagnosis of infectious diseases, detection of microorganisms and identification of microorganisms

A diagnosis system for infections diseases and a method of detecting and identifying microorganisms to be used for the system are disclosed. The diagnosis system comprises fixing a sample of a fraction or component containing many phagocytes such as blood, abdominal dropsy, etc., bringing the sample into contact with an avidin-like protein including streptavidin, bringing the sample thus treated into contact with biotin containing combined thereto a labeling molecule such as an enzyme, antibody, dye or gold, and subjecting the sample wherein a microorganism has been detected to hybridization by using either a radioactive or a non-radioactive probe to thereby identify the microorganism contained in the sample.
