AGENT FOR FIGHTING SOIL INVADERS OF AGRICULTURAL PLANTS

Granules for the control of nematodes and soil dwelling pests which contain in total, 0.1-20% by weight of a hydrogen carbonate (I) of the formula MHCO3 and/or a carbonate (II) of the formula (M)nCO3 (wherein M is a mono- or divalent metal ion or an ammonium group and n is 1 or 2) and an organic acid (the weight ratio of the hydrogen carbonate (I) and/or the carbonate (II) to the organic acid being 1:10 - 10:1), in admixture with one or more organic or inorganic carriers. An insecticidal-nematocidal compound may also be included. The granules may be applied at a level of 1-100 hydrogen carbonate and/or carbonate and organic acid may be provided in one type of granule and the insecticidal-nematocidal compound in another type of granule, the two types of granule being mixed on site.
