A double-E core of eg Fe-50% Co alloy with high saturation flux density carries two identical windings (5,6) on yokes (2) between respective side limbs (3) and a central limb (4) on which a measuring winding or Hall effect transducer (14) is wired to a processor (15) and indicator (16). The side limbs (3) are interrupted by hermetically sealed containers (8,9) in which conical pole pieces (7) produce inhomogeneous magnetic fields when one container (9) is filled with a standard gas mixt, and the mixt to be analysed is circulated through the other container (8), causing variation of net flux density in the central limb (4). USE/ADVANTAGE - With gaseous combustion prods of small heating installations. Small differences between magnetic flux densities can be measued with greater accuracy and with less costly suppression of interference.
