The metal cannister (2) has a detachable manhole-lid (3) the inward-pointing edge of which has a flange (6) to take a sealing-ring (7). An upward-pointing pressure-flange (9) is positioned radially apart from the lid-flange (6) on the container-(8)edge enclosing the manhole (M). The pressure-flange (9) also has a hole (14) high (h) enough to be separated by the sealing-ring (7) from the container's contents when a set internal pressure has been reached. The lid flange (6) has an annular groove (6a) for positioning the sealing ring. The pressure surface (F) of the container-side pressure flange (9) facing the annular groove (6a) slants. USE/ADVNATAGE - Containers of environmentally dangerous products such as liquids liable to build up high pressures are prevented from having their sealing rings forced out.
