With the training device, theoretical basic knowledge is to be acquired before a riding pupil is trained by means of a living horse. The training device consists essentially of a riding body (1) which imitates the outer contour of a living horse and which has a number of measurement members (9, 10) which can be actuated by the rider to be trained. The measurement members are assigned an evaluating arrangement, into which signals are fed and processed in such a manner that the rider can recognise his incorrect action on a monitor. The training device is to be used in particular in riding schools for preparation for riding instruction. IMAGE
