The invention relates to a device for sealing cables in cable runs, using a sealing body which surrounds the respective cable and can expand in the pipe run. The sealing body is constructed as a sealing ring and is arranged between a clamping ring and a centering ring. Arranged upstream of the centering ring is a clamping ring, which is designed for connection to a clamping device. The individual rings can be clamped to one another by means of clamping rods, to form a structural unit. The structural unit which is mounted around the cable to be sealed can be inserted into the relevant pipe run. After this, the structural unit is clamped with the aid of the clamping device, so that the sealing ring is expanded radially and ensures satisfactory sealing on the one hand with respect to the inner wall of the pipe run and on the other hand with respect to the outer sheath of the cable.
