Numerically controlled milling machine with two-axis milling head

A numerically controlled milling machine with a two-axis milling head is described, the milling head being a component of a central unit rotatably mounted in a carrier slide, and the carrier slide being traversable in accordance with the Z-axis on a vertical column which in turn is arranged on a compound slide. The central unit has a drive for swivelling the milling head in the A-plane, whereas the drive for swivelling the milling head and thus the central unit in the C-plane is attached to the carrier slide.
