The purpose of the invention is to achieve luminous effects by means of a ballistic missile which otherwise would not be possible in a stationary state. An example might be the illumination of distant objects for the purpose of photography. According to the invention, a way of achieving this object is a light source which is designed in such a manner that it luminesces at the beginning, during or towards the end of a ballistic flight as a result of the fact that the ballistic missile (in the simplest embodiment of the invention) is a flash bulb or is constructed to be a part-object. Another application of the invention is a flash illumination for the purpose of scaring off in dangerous situations in the case of people by subjecting an opponent to a specific triggering of the flash illumination in the embodiment of the invention, the opponent thereby experiencing a crippling deterrence. A further application of the invention with the temporal-spatial illumination process is its use as luminous column or similar luminous effect for the purpose of entertainment on stage, in films, on TV or in shows.
