In this method, a light ray coming from the object is supplied via a movable stereoscope to an ocular and to a photosensor, the photo currents of which are amplified and supplied to an analog/digital converter. These, in turn, are supplied to a computer for further processing in accordance with arbitrary programs. The work can be carried out with transmitted and/or reflected light. Before entering into a photosensor, the light ray can be guided through diaphragms and filters in order to determine different reflection and transmission surfaces in the object. To locate the respective measuring point accurately, a cursor permanently connected to the stereoscope can be guided over a digitisation tablet. This method is also suitable for simultaneously detecting colour, density and shape differences on two two- or three-dimensional objects. In this case, two photo currents are formed and processed.
