Blade holder for tightening frame saws for cutting blocks of stone, having a point of application for the saw blade at the blade holder next to the centre line of the holder shank or next to the point of application of the resulting force with which the holder is supported on one or both frame cross-beams, as a result of which a moment is produced which presses the blade holder against one of the cross-beams.
