Anti-dive systems are presently used above all in motorcycles in an electronically/hydraulically controlled form. These are, however, inter alia, complicated, costly and heavy. The invention is to prevent brake-diving in a simple and reliable manner without excess weight with respect to customary spring forks and without an impairment of the springing characteristics in particular in the case of bicycle suspension systems. Various embodiments of the invention are proposed for various requirements. According to the invention, the force (1) which pulls forwards during braking is caused to oppose the force (2) which effects the brake-diving. As a result, the suspension is unaffected by the braking operation. An embodiment for motor scooters is also described which, inter alia, looks more elegant and is easier to (dis)assemble than known embodiments.
