In order to reduce the load on the environment, to lower costs and to lessen direct operational risks, this "energy carrier" in the form of a Rankine (thermal) steam power process (cycle) of a material which has a relatively low boiling point, such as the incombustible CO2 (circulating working agent), makes use of the self-regenerating continuity of the atmospheric temperature gradient due to the day/night rhythm of the sun (rotation of the earth), on the basis of which even in the case of relatively low temperature differences it is possible to convert thermal energy of "infinitely" large quantities, in particular in the case of exploiting the periodically stationary temperature gradient between in each case two agents (preferably atmosphere and ground; materials of truly infinitely large thermal (heat) capacity C = m . c = dQ/dT) to be found in nature.
