Fibre-reinforced synthetic-resin concrete as load-bearing element for increasing the calculability of failure mechanisms for use in aggressive liquid and/or gaseous media
Fibre-reinforced synthetic-resin concrete as load-bearing element for increasing the calculability of failure mechanisms for use in aggressive liquid and/or gaseous media
The invention presents a process to improve the properties of a synthetic-resin concrete by means of fibre laminates and thus effectively to prevent the sudden failure of structures and, at the same time, to improve the impermeability with respect to aggressive media of a vast range of states of aggregation. The process is characterised in that synthetic-resin concretes, as required, are reinforced in a shear-resistant manner in lozenged or square form with fibre laminates which correspond to the chemical requirements of the media enclosing the structure. By virtue of the structure selected, for the first time the good elastic properties of the synthetic-resin concrete and the likewise elastic properties of fibre laminates are combined such that the entire load-bearing behaviour is elastic/plastic to marked extent. This results in the fact that possible fractures do not appear suddenly, but are preceded by large deformations, this leading to a reduction in safety factors in the dimensioning and thus permitting more cost-effective structures than hitherto.
