The aeroplane is the main means of transport for large distances. It has particular advantages, e.g. speed, independence of fixed lines but also serious disadvantages such as environmental damage, noise pollution, high costs for airports and flight insurance, increasing numbers of transport accidents etc. The object of this invention is to develop a new terrestrial vehicle (jet train) which can achieve in particular on the ground speeds which are similar to or the same as those of aeroplanes without the serious disadvantages substantially outlined above. The object is achieved by a new kind of transport tube system (ART system) which is in particular airtight and in whose interior vehicles (jet trains) move in tubes or the like which are partially or completely evacuated of air and to whose shape the vehicles are matched, the said vehicles being guided by magnets, or air cushions or moving conventionally at high speeds driven by means of conventional drives with rockets or by means of magnets or newly developed air circulation rocket systems with special devices for changing track and transfer devices and in particular jet train stations and generalised transport lines for the ART transport system. The application and the use of this invention will be worldwide, in particular thanks to the advantages that the jet train can be propelled along in the air vacuum tubes at a high speed independently of the weather and with a high degree of safety and low energy consumption.
