In a processs for detecting faults in a container, preferably a bottle, made of electrically insulating material, e.g. metal, plastic or mineral material, especially glass, the wall of the container is taken into a high-voltage field, the strength and frequency of which are such that partial discharges which can be detected occur at the locations of the faults.
