The naturally aspirated multi-cylinder piston engine has an exhaust manifold which can be formed in different designs as thrust nozzles. In this addition to the original system the part of the exhaust pipe (K1) which forms the thrust nozzle has a first part of progressively increasing dia. This increase in dia. corresponds to the increase in the flow of exhaust gas as each cylinder (323(1)) to (325(4)) discharges into the exhaust manifold. The second part of the exhaust pipe (K1) has a progressively decreasing dia. (42). The exhaust pipe is so curved over the part (K1) that the exhaust gas shock wave impinges on two surfaces (410;411) before reaching the straight part (52).
