The invention relates to a pressure-applying device for guiding textile webs or the like, consisting of a contact surface for the web and of at least two rotatable pressing elements assigned to the latter. In the prior art, these are formed by brush rollers which, when hard bristles are used, damage the web and, when soft bristles are used, are not able to apply the necessary pressing force. For the purpose of spreading out and aligning a web in a manner which is kind on the material, the pressure-applying device is characterised according to the invention in that each pressing element 4,4' is formed by a rotatably mounted hub 8,8' and a hollow body 11,11' of rubber-elastic material arranged on said hub.
